About the Bank
The Bank of Æfira provides banking services to the Government and the Æfiran people. It was founded by Act of Parliament in 2008 to serve as the central bank of the Kingdom of Æfira.
All Æfiran currency is held and transferred via the bank – there are no coins or banknotes in circulation. The Bank of Æfira maintains deposit accounts for its customers and enables rapid, secure payment of money by electronic transfer.
The Bank of Æfira does not currently make loans or pay interest. It charges no fees for its services, and although accounts do not earn interest, savings held at the bank are entirely risk-free.
By law, the Bank of Æfira is the only bank licensed to operate in Æfira. Unlike central banks in many countries, however, it has no role in setting national monetary and fiscal policy.
